X²: The Threat is a space simulator that continues the story set by X: Beyond The Frontier. You can explore over 130 beautifully designed sectors occupied by nebulas that affect your ships and stations, asteroids you can mine for materials you can later sell on for profit. Explore in over 60 ships of varying sizes from scout class ships to the much larger carrier class battleships. Upgrade your ships systems with many more upgrades, and download new upgrades that make use of the new scripting engine designed specially for X². Add new weapons to your ship including the Ion Disruptor and Mass Driver, but also build factories that will develop these weapons and sell them to make a profit, expanding your own empire among the universe. But above all else, help to defend the universe from the Khaak, before they kill everyone and everything they come across.

    Hi,
I’m curious about how can I play this great game on linux?
Because some time ago I’ve bought it genuine (with X3 too), but they were Windows versions only.
Since then I’m wondering how to get it to my more favourite linux.
Without using any emulator Wine alike of course if possible.
    Thx for any hint.
    D.

Thanks for the feedback Eddwars, I changed the video to the game's trailer. I hope this is a more accurate representation of it!

I've been playing this game a lot lately and I really like it, but I have to say I find the video misleading. Some of the foot in it is from in-game cinematics (the TP ship disembarking from the lander, the planet side footage on Argon Prime & part of the clip from inside the space station that got attacked) and some things are only in still shots which the game loads (the under water Boron home world). Some things are not in the game like that paniced breathing in the space suit (you can go out in a space suit) in the attack clip, seeing the inside of a TP ship while in flight (and seeing out the windows no less). Some things are different. The build of space stations is possible, but it does not happen the way it is shown in the movie.

This video look like an early concept teaser rather than an add for what got released. That or the Windows version has some feature that Linux lacks.
