Tile Racer (formerly known as “Stunts Remake”) is a freeware 3D stunt racing game which features realistic car physics and an in game track editor to create new maps to race on. At the moment the players are able to race for the best lap time but a hotseat splitscreen mode and an AI enemy to race against are in the works.

If the hotseat splitscreen mode and the AI enemy hadn’t been in the works forever (better saying in the abandoned works probably), it would have been a wonderful game, I guess :D.

It’s a fun game, I like the driving and the controls are nice and the cars handle nicely. You race for time instead of against other drivers, which is kind of a bummer. But I guess that might be for the best since the track isn’t that wide and has a lot of jumps. On a weird note, the sound wasn’t working correctly when I installed the game in Mint 10, which uses the Gnome desktop, so I switched to Peppermint, which uses the LXDE desktop, and it works like it’s supposed to.
