Legends is a FPS game that is much influenced by Tribes 1 & 2. If you enjoyed playing Tribes back in the day then you are likely to find Legends very close to that original experience. Give this game a try if you are looking for that Tribes feel in Linux. :)

I played tribes 1 like crazy when i was a kid so i’d love to play this… can anyone tell me what the player base is like on this game.. do enough people play it to make finding a game easy or has it pretty much died like alot of these games that i find…

To be honest the player base is small. Don’t let that stop you. This is very similar to Tribes. Be sure to pick up and install the latest mappack FIRST. If you remember Tribes 1 you may remember it did not support custom map downloads. Legends does support custom map downloadTMappack first and be ready to go. The mappack has a number of remakes of all the great Tribes 1 maps you might remember so you should feel right at home. Thees an occasional good game so get it installed up and jump on in.

I love this game beacuse it is fast, not too easy to play and players need some kind of team spirit to be successful.

Be sure to download the BTMappack as well. The BTMappack contains nearly all available community created maps for Legends. There are over 100 maps in this mappack. You could download each map separately from a server directly but this takes a very long time. You can actually download and install the entire BTMappack in a much shorter time than a single map directly from a server. The most current version of the BTMappack, at the time of this comment, is BTMappack-1.05-2.unf.
The BTMappack is available in the downloads/maps section of the download area at the main Legends site.

Be sure to read the simple instructions there on how to add the mappack to your copy of Legends.
